If you hate or show any discrimination against pit bulls-no, towards ANY sort of dog (or person, but that goes without saying), unfollow me. Now. If this gets me 0 followers, I honestly don’t give a flying fuck. I don’t want prejudiced FILTH following me.
That site is pretty dead on with it’s description of the traits needed for an animal to qualify. Now, there are exceptions to every rule, but not every dog can be that exception, you see. There is nothing wrong with having a plain dog that simply ‘looks’ like it is wild. Trust me, they are easier to care for. If you are curious, google ‘Winter Wolf Syndrome’ and read stories of perfectly rasied high content wolfdogs that turned unapproachable and near untouchable around their 3-4th birthdays.
This is meant to educate, not insult. If you were sold a wolfdog with blue eyes and a curly tail - I’m sorry, you were lied to. Blue eyes are a recessive trait that wolves do not possess. For a puppy to have blue eyes, both parents had to have them. This means both parents were just regular dogs. True high content wolfdog puppies are born a solid dark color even if they turn white when they mature. Even artic wolves are not born white. High content wolfdogs tails also do not curl. If this is the only red flag trait your furry friend has, then they are probably low/mid content.
That’s only the tip of the iceberg of information that site provides.
GREAT post I recommend you read.
About 99% of the animals in the wolfdog tag are dogs. Plain and simple.
Until you have held a tiny puppy in your arms as it kissed your face with slobbery puppy breath and felt the love,
Until you have held an injured or severely ill dog in your arms and felt their pain
Until you have looked into the eyes of a tired aging senior dog and felt their wisdom,
And until you have seen and understood the look in your dogs eyes that tell you their time on earth with you is ov…er …. and you humanely let them go,
You will never understand the life of a rescuer.
We find beauty in the most incomprehensible places and the otherwise homely faces.
It is our gift to see beyond the dirt, terror, sadness and defeat and find the true soul that lies within.
We are rescue.
